Differences between natural, organic and chemical-free products

Updated: Nov 12, 2021

Hello to all our ZERO NATURAL COSMETICS & HERBOLARIUM fans!

Today we bring you an article where we explain the differences between 3 products:

-Natural

-Organic (Like our own!)

-Chemical-free

Learn about these differences and put on practices at the moment to purchase your cosmetics (visit our online shop www.theherbolarium.com)

Here you can find the details at the following:

§ Natural: While the term is not regulated at all, not all products with the word "natural" on their labels are a fraud. What you should do is read the ingredients, this is where the thing gets a bit complicated since the scientific names of some natural ingredients may seem synthetic. Sodium chloride is simply sea salt, for example, and citric acid is a compound found in lemons and other citrus fruits. Remember that they are ordered from the highest percentage to the lowest, so try to choose a product where the ingredients Synthetics are mainly found at the bottom of the list if they are included.

§ Organic: This term, which means that the ingredients are grown organically and therefore its production has been as respectful as possible the planet; It is regulated by the FDA in the USA, or by the organization in charge in the country where the brand belongs to and by different certifying entities according to their origin. The subject of this certification is that to obtain it, it must comply with a minimum percentage of organic products, not necessarily 100% of its components. The USDA seal is ideal (only for the USA) since that means that the product contains at least 95% organic ingredients.

§ Free of chemicals: This means that a product does not contain ingredients made by humans, it is made of 100% natural elements or compounds. Yet well, not necessarily it has to be organic.

We also find labels VEGAN, to inform us that the product is free of components of animal origin and CRUELTY-FREE, pra note that the product has not been tested in animals.

We hope this quick guide can help!
